Mother Angelica R.I.P.

Let us remember in our prayers the repose of the soul of Mother Angelica, the feisty, conservative foundress of the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), and outspoken promoter of Our Lady's Rosary – who passed from this life on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016.

The Fatima Center recalls with admiration Mother Angelica's heroic (and ultimately very costly) stance in the face of the Vatican Secretary of State's obfuscations of the Third Secret of Fatima. It was on May 16, 2001 (less than a year since the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith's scandalous publication of June 2000 purporting to reveal the entirety of the Third Secret) that Mother Angelica boldly stated to a live audience of millions:

"As for the Secret, well I happen to be one of those individuals who thinks we didn't get the whole thing. I told ya! I mean, you have the right to your own opinion, don't you, Father? There, you know, that's my opinion. Because I think it's scary..."

The world is indeed a poorer place now without the old-fashioned Catholic militancy of this zealous Poor Clare nun. May she rest in peace.
