Did Our Lady Speak to You of the Consecration of the World?
Father Umberto Pasquale, an Italian parish priest has visited and written to Sister Lucia many times. His testimony, published in the Italian language edition of the Pope's own Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romanoon May 12, 1982, is very valuable today because it shows that Sister Lucia has affirmed in word and in her own handwriting that Our Lady of Fatima never asked for the Consecration of the world. She only asked for the Consecration of Russia. Confusion today still exists. We must remember, it was Sister Lucia's confessor who told her to write Pope Pius XII asking for the consecration of the world, Not Our Lady.

KGB Style Confusion is Fomented Among the Public — Because the Faithful Do Not Know of the Following Report and Letter
Father Umberto Pasquale, in his booklet Mensageira de Jesus and in the Italian-language edition of L'Osservatore Romano for May 12, 1982, has given the following testimony:
"I wanted to clarify the question of the consecration of Russia by referring to the sources. On August 5, 1978, I had a long conversation with the seer of Fatima, Sister Lucia, at the Carmelite convent in Coimbra. At a certain moment, I said to her: 'Sister, I would like to ask you a question. If you cannot answer it, well, patience! But if you can answer it, I shall be grateful to you because you could enlighten me on a point that does not seem clear to a lot of people ... Did Our Lady speak to you of the consecration of the world to Her Immaculate Heart?' 'No, Father Umberto, never! At the Cova da Iria in 1917, Our Lady had promised: 'I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia ... in order to prevent the spread of its errors throughout the world, wars between many nations and persecutions against the Church ...' In 1929, at Tuy, Our Lady came, as She had promised, to tell me that the moment had come to ask the Holy Father for the consecration of that country (Russia) ..."
After this conversation, Father Pasquale, desiring to have a written declaration from Sister Lucia, addressed her this request: "Did Our Lady ever speak to you about the consecration of the world to Her Immaculate Heart?"
Father Pasquale then received this handwritten reply from Sister Lucia:
