Re: Divine Warnings of Chastisement

“The Pope maybe can’t say it explicitly, but he is trying to prepare the Church for this immense trial (‘The sufferings for the Church that are foretold’) by entrusting everything in the hands of Our Lady of Fatima.”

... Antonio Socci — Libero, May 13, 2010

Dear Friend of Our Lady,

What is it that the Italian author Socci is saying in the above quote? What is the Pope trying to prepare us for?

You already have a pretty good idea but, as I am sure you are aware of, many don’t. It is likely you have asked yourself more than once in the last few years — how can Catholics, and people in general, look around and not see that something is terribly wrong? How can they look at the world and think all is fine?

Many, in fact all humanity, acted as if they thought all was well just before the great flood as we are told in the book of Genesis. All except for one family. The family of Noe.

“He [God] said to Noe: The end of all flesh is come before Me; the earth is filled with iniquity through them; and I will destroy them with the earth.” (Genesis 6:13) As everyone knows, except for the family of Noe all died in the flood.

Also in Genesis (Ch. 18) but later in Biblical history, Abraham appeals to God on behalf of the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrha. Almighty God has let Abraham know that he will destroy those places because of their sins.

But God promises Abraham he will spare those cities if there were as few as 10 citizens there who were just. “I beseech Thee, saith he [Abraham], be not angry, Lord, if I speak yet once more: What if ten should be found there [who are just or not living in sin]? And He [God] said: I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.”

There were not even 10, and as a result both cities were destroyed by fire from Heaven.

As you know there are plenty more examples like the above in the Bible. Examples of punishment to nations and peoples for turning their back on their Creator and leading terrible lives of sin on a large scale.

In all these instances, Almighty God in His mercy gave plenty of warning to those who were about to be punished. Some heeded the warning and amended their lives, imploring and trusting in the mercy of God, such as at Ninive (Jonas Ch. 3), but many others did not listen.

In view of Bible history, where do we stand today? It should be quite obvious. The sin of Sodom and Gomorrha is accepted pretty much around the world, to the point where governments of nations are instituting and enforcing “laws” to protect the sin.

It is one of the four sins that cry to Heaven for vengeance.

Let’s not forget there is a second of those fours sins — legalized murder of infants in the womb (and outside the womb as in the case of “partial birth abortion” allowed in the US) — referred to as abortion. It is also protected by “law” and in more recent years by some of the most (formerly) Catholic nations.

With two of the four sins that cry to Heaven for vengeance being so widespread around the world and nations protecting the “right” to commit those sins — it is a blatant denial of the rights of God, our Creator, and even a deliberate “in your face”, so to speak, challenge. It says to Him, we know better, and we don’t care about Your laws.

Here is what Pope Pius XII said in 1951 about where we stand — “The world today is worse than before the flood.” He is saying that the world was already worse in 1951 than before the great deluge. And that was 17 and 22 years, respectively, before the legalization of abortion in Canada and the US, and more than 50 years before the enactment of laws protecting homosexuality.

Now where do we stand? It gets even worse when one considers the persons used to send His warnings in Bible history, versus the precious Messenger He sent 93 years ago to give His warning to the people of today.

In Bible history God sent Jonas the prophet to warn the people of Nineve. He chose Moses to warn the Israelites of impending punishment if they did not listen.

But in more recent times He sent She Who is the most precious to Him — He sent His own Mother Whom He gave to us while on the cross to be our Mother as well — the Blessed Virgin Mary.

He sent Her to Fatima to warn the world in 1917. The rank of the messenger foretells the importance of the message and the degree of punishment to come for not heeding the message. As it is not yet time for Our Lord’s Second Coming, He sent Her.

To ignore the Mother of God is, to say the least, not a good thing. It has been stated that Our Lord would rather we offend Him (by ignoring Him) than offend Her. So how bad is it? Where do we stand? Well, you already know what She warned us at Fatima would happen if Her requests were not heeded. Some of the punishments we have already experienced and are experiencing.

To help give us a better idea of what is yet to come for the Church and the world, here is a sampling of what a few who have read the Third Secret of Fatima have said in the last three decades or so. This is some of what the Pope is trying to warn us about in the quote at the top of page 1:

As you can see, the last two were statements made by Pope Benedict XVI before he was elected to the papacy. The above quotes and many others, including some made recently by Pope Benedict, can be found in the most recent issue of The Fatima Crusader, Issue 95.

You have likely already received it from Father Gruner. If so, you have seen it contains some of the talks from The Fatima Challenge conference and the grave warning of Pope Benedict on his way to, and at, Fatima days after the end of our Fatima Challenge conference in Rome.

If you have not already done so, please don’t hesitate to request more copies to give to others, so they can read what the Pope is warning so that your friends and neighbors can prepare themselves for what is to come. We can’t wait any longer; we must all pray, fast, do penance and offer sacrifices for our own sins and for the conversion of sinners.

Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima

Enclosed with this letter is a leaflet we printed to send to you, entitled Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima. Some have referred to the prayer as a Litany to Our Lady of Fatima.

The prayer on the leaflet was sent to us years ago from our office in Northern Ireland. I thought it time to re-print and send it out.

You will notice it has the ecclesiastical approval of the Cardinal in Lisbon, Portugal, dated 1938. For this reason we did not make any adjustments. I am referring specifically to the words ‘You’ and ‘Your’ when addressing Our Lady and Almighty God, whereas normally we address Them in the more traditional, formal ‘Thee’, ‘Thy’ and ‘Thine’.

It is a nice prayer which perhaps, if time permits, you can fit in after praying the Rosary (after the prayers of the Mass there is nothing more efficacious and powerful for us to pray than the Rosary). You will notice how fitting the words of the prayer are for today.

For more copies of the enclosed leaflet, Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima, and for more Fatima Crusader magazines, call us at 1-800-845-3047.

In the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts,

Joanna Swords

P.S. Don’t forget about our twelve million Rosaries campaign for the Consecration of Russia. See the ad on page 13 of Issue 95 of The Fatima Crusader which explains that the Rosary Campaign has been extended through December 31, 2010. Keep sending in the number of Rosaries you have prayed for this intention so we can add it to the count.
